Gazziya is one of Wolaita’s cultural element. In Gazziya, Wolaita’s, mostly young men and woman come together following the Gifaataa Celebration (A Wolaita’s new year) to a known public places or communal open spaces in their respective kebeles/villages to play in different forms including Wolaita’s dance, barehellelliya, exchange of gifts, playing various games.
